The 2022 Citrus Harvest Festival Baking Contest will be held on the morning of Thursday, March 10 at Highland Town Hall, 27215 Base Line, where contestants are invited to drop off their best citrus desserts, jams and condiments for the competition.
The competition will take place before the festival, which is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, so that submitted entries can be tasted and judged before the event. The winners will receive their ribbons, from first to third place, at the festival.
The competition includes categories for adults and children. Adult categories (for ages 16 and up) include: cakes, cupcakes, breads and muffins; cookies and bars; pies and pies; and jams, jellies, condiments and salsas. The children’s categories (5 to 15 years old) are: cakes and cupcakes; cookies and bars; and pies and pies.
First, second and third prize ribbons will be awarded for each category.
All entrees must be homemade and must feature a citrus product as an ingredient. Multiple entries will be accepted.
Entries must be submitted to Highland City Hall, 27215 Base Line, between 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on March 10. Refrigeration will be available.
