Sarah Burnett and her daughter Ava share this recipe for “the best chocolate chip cookies.”
“These cookies are special to our family as they are the recipe of my husband’s great uncle and aunt, Bill and Linda Craft, which they created together and baked for many gatherings of friends and family for many years. many years,” writes Burnett. “These cookies are simple but turn out delicious every time. If you’re looking for a crowd-pleasing cookie for your next party or business event, try these easy chocolate chip cookies.
1 cup shortening
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 C. Salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup walnuts (optional)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cream together the shortening, brown sugar and white sugar. Add vanilla, baking powder and salt. Continue adding the eggs, flour, chocolate chips and nuts. Mix well. Bake on a greased cookie sheet for eight minutes. Enjoy!
